Biosphere Collection
Inspired by One of the Ocean's Greatest Gatherings
The Biosphere Collection is our tribute to the extraordinary interconnectedness of life beneath the surface.
Its name is inspired by the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll in the Maldives — one of the most remarkable marine ecosystems on Earth and home to one of the ocean's most breathtaking natural phenomena.
Each year, during the southwest monsoon season from May to November, nutrient-rich currents carry enormous concentrations of plankton into the protected waters of Hanifaru Bay. What follows is nothing short of extraordinary.
Drawn by this seasonal abundance, manta rays and whale sharks gather in spectacular numbers to feed. Mantas form mesmerising feeding chains and swirling "manta trains," sometimes gathering by the hundreds as they glide through dense clouds of plankton. Whale sharks, the largest fish on Earth, often join the spectacle, creating one of the most iconic wildlife encounters in the world. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve was established to help protect this fragile and globally important ecosystem.
The Biosphere Collection celebrates this incredible balance of life — where ocean currents, microscopic plankton, coral reefs, manta rays, whale sharks, and countless other species exist as part of one connected system.
Because the ocean is not simply a collection of animals.
It is a living biosphere.
